The Mayfield Phoenix Players rose from the ashes of an earlier Mayfield Theatre Group in 2002, after the original theatre on court meadow was burnt down in 2000. Since then there have been productions each Spring and Autumn – covering everything from tragedy to comedy – and all showcasing the amazing talent lurking in the homes of local residents.

The Phoenix generates a marvellous sense of community with people getting involved in everything from scene painting to making props in addition to the more visible act of treading the boards. Members are no longer just from Mayfield but the high standard of productions has attracted people from surrounding towns and villages.

Membership provides year round entertainment with regular events held not just to raise money but also to ensure that the Company is as much about having fun as it is producing regular theatrical productions. With play readings, barbecues, garden parties, theatre trips, there is something for everyone.

Mayfield Phoenix Players are active all year round and whether you have just a small amount of time, or wish to get really stuck in, there is a place for you. There is a regular newsletter to ensure you are kept informed of everything going on.
